In the coastal town of Zushi, Kanagawa, a 50-year-old traditional Japanese house has been transformed into
AMIGO HOUSE — a cultural coliving space that combines lodging, co-working, shared living, a communal kitchen, a farm, and a community compost. It’s more than a space — it’s a catalyst that reexamines eating, working, and living, fostering continuous evolution through the meeting of diverse cultures and people, inspiring a more free and abundant way of life.

Akira Okura is the founder of AMIGO HOUSE, a coliving space in Zushi, Japan, where people and cultures from around the world come together.With a background in advertising, tech, public service, and urban development, he created AMIGO HOUSE as a place to live, work, and connect.He’s also a member of CINEMA CARAVAN, a traveling outdoor cinema collective that builds theaters across the globe, creating cultural dialogue through the act of gathering.Believing in the potential of people, culture, and the spirit of place, he continues to travel—shaping new “what ifs” into reality, both in Japan and beyond.
