Chimerik's Virtual Live Art Database

The aim of this project is to research and implement new innovative digital models to support creative solutions for live-art presentations online through the use of adaptive technology and software. This digital model will bridge a gap for live-art presenters and practitioners by creating a new creative process beyond the paradigm of film making and live-broadcasting.

This workshop is a guided walk-through of Chimerik's newly developed Virtual Live Art Database. In this sharing of research, through a living online resource designed specifically for live performance-based artists and practitioners, uncover information about different softwares, online tools, and create pipelines, and gather together to ponder new possibilities for new media technology within a live performance framework.

Chimerik 似不像 specializes in the audiovisual new media software Isadora and has collaborated on over 500 multi-disciplinary projects which have been exhibited internationally such as Art Night Venezia (Venice Biennale), Documenta 15, World Design Expo, Digital Arts Festival of Taipei. And has worked with influential corporations such as NIKE, Microsoft, BenQ and Google in live visuals/projection design and interactive video installations.

Sammy Chien and Caroline MacCaull are the Co-Artistic Directors of Chimerik 似不像, a multi-award-winning interdisciplinary nonprofit arts organization consisting of artists from underrepresented groups (people of colour, LGBTQ2S+, immigrants, women in technology, linguistic/language minorities, neurodiverse people, youth and next generation) from various age groups, backgrounds, levels of experience, and disciplines (film/video, new media, VJ, VR, projection and lighting design, experimental music, sound art, visual arts and contemporary dance/theatre performance).

Chimerik 似不像 specializes in the audiovisual new media software Isadora and has collaborated on over 500 multi-disciplinary projects which have been exhibited internationally such as Art Night Venezia (Venice Biennale), Documenta 15, World Design Expo, Digital Arts Festival of Taipei, ISEA (International Symposium of Electronic Arts), Isadora Werkstatt (Berlin), Digital Carnival Festival, Taiwan Best Design 100, Tokyo Performing Arts Meeting (TPAM), PuSh International Performing Arts Festival and Vancouver New Music Festival. Dance/theatre companies they have worked with include: Arts Club, Gateway Theatre, Stratford Festival, the frank Theatre, Aeriosa, Beijing Modern Dance Company, Wen Wei Dance, Dancers of Damelahamid and Raven Spirit Dance. Chimerik 似不像 has worked with influential corporations such as NIKE, Microsoft, BenQ and Google in live visuals/projection design and interactive video installations. in addition to actively empowering underrepresented communities and engaging sectoral change projects such as Virtual Live Art Database & International Choreographic Interlink.

If you need to cancel your booking, please do so via the booking platform or email us at info@launcher.com.tw with your order number. We will process your request as soon as possible.

Refunds will be processed in accordance with our standard terms and conditions, based on Taiwan’s “Standardized Contract for Performing Arts Ticket Sales.”

Refund requests must be made at least 10 days before the performance. For example, a ticket for a program on October 09 has to be exchanged or refunded before September 29.

For refund, A 10% handling fee of the original purchased price will be charged. For example, a payment of NTD 300 receives a refund of NTD 270.
